This launch represents a heartfelt desire on our part to convey the excitement and momentum of the world of process painting. We’re glad you’re here with us!

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of our new website after so many months of hard work. We hope you’ll find it both stimulating and engaging, a place to help you develop and enrich your own painting experience. Our goal was to create an environment that reflects the vibrant imagery, color, and feeling of The Painting Experience itself. Let us know if you think we’ve succeeded or if you have suggestions for improvement; we know there will be some fixes to make during the website’s first new weeks in the world.

One important part of the new website is this blog. We have a full lineup of interesting articles, videos and talks by members of The Painting Experience community. Stay tuned for upcoming posts like “Process Painting and Self-Compassion,” “Reclaiming Play Through Process Painting” and “Process Arts in the Classroom.” We hope this blog will be a valuable resource that supports your creative experience. You can use the blue box at the end of this note to sign up for future posts by email.

Another feature of this website is an enhanced catalog of our programs, both in person and online. Enjoy browsing your many opportunities to paint with us! And again, we invite your feedback about any part of the website that might feel confusing or awkward, as well as your suggestions or new ideas. We’ll grow and improve as we go forward together.

For example, in response to past requests, you’ll find that it’s now much easier to locate and listen to our podcasts. In addition, we’ve added a gallery of photos from ongoing events and a fun store for art materials, which we’ll be developing over time. This launch represents a heartfelt desire on our part to convey the excitement and momentum of the world of process painting. Welcome!

This guest post by Suzanne Campise, MDiv, is an excerpt from a sermon she preached at the Nauraushaun Presbyterian Church in Pearl River, NY, shortly after the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers. In this excerpt, lightly edited for our blog, she offers a reflection on racism through the lens of the painting [...]

Process Painting Can’t Be Categorized

Stewart hosted his first fully online painting weekend earlier this month. How exciting to have people join from all over the world! Participants "arrived" from Argentina, Brazil, India, Switzerland, British Columbia, and across the United States. Even some wild time zone differences didn't stand in the way: Charlene, who signed in from India, painted though [...]

Creating a Painting Space in a Small Rental Apartment

In today's post, Judy gives us a tour of the painting space she carved out in her small Philadelphia apartment. It's another great example of finding simple solutions to stay creatively connected while staying at home. I live in a rental. It’s a small space and I have to be careful not to get paint [...]
