Introduction to Facilitating Process Arts

A course in the art of facilitation, open to anyone who has attended at least one workshop with The Painting Experience.

Introduction to Facilitating Process Arts is for those interested in learning the basic principles of process arts in order to work with others in any type of process-oriented learning environment. (For instance, therapists, teachers and facilitators in related modalities find this course useful in their practices.) The course is also appropriate for those who may not want to facilitate, but who wish to deepen their own experience of process painting. The course contains three modules, each of which will help you incorporate the facilitation techniques of process painting into your own way of working with others based upon methods developed over the last 40 years by The Painting Experience.

Introduction to Facilitating Process Arts is self-paced; you can complete it on your own schedule. After you enroll, you'll have unlimited access to all current and future lessons. As you make progress, you will receive emails announcing the availability of the next lesson in the series as well as invitations to periodic webinars and related course offerings. When you complete each module of the series, you will receive confirmation of your course participation.

This is not a certification to teach The Painting Experience. We offer this course to assist in your professional development, by extending and deepening your understanding of process arts through learning the philosophy and facilitation methods of The Painting Experience. For example, some participants in the pilot phase of this course (which is currently underway) teach subjects related to process painting under their own names, or are pursuing this course of study for their own personal growth.

As a course member you will also be invited to participate in online weekly painting classes and one-to-one personal mentoring sessions at a reduced rate. And each fall, The Painting Experience facilitators and affiliates gather for five days to build community and explore aspects of the painting process in a rich format of educational exercises and presentations. As a participant in this course, you will be invited to a special segment of the gathering and have the opportunity to meet the facilitators and affiliates in person and take part in scheduled activities.

We welcome you to this exploration, and we look forward to addressing your desire to enter more fully into the path of inquiry, whether for your own growth or so you may support others on a journey of inspiration, creativity and transformation.

If you are new to The Painting Experience or live in a part of the world that makes it difficult for you to attend a workshop in person, we will soon offer an introductory course, Awakening the Creative, to fit your needs.

If you're interested in the course for facilitators or the introductory course, please submit the form below and we'll notify you as soon as the course details are finalized. (We expect the facilitators' course to be available in January 2017 and the online introductory course a bit later in the year.)
