We’re excited to introduce a new program for continuing participants who want to deepen the personal inquiry begun in prior workshops. The week-long Immersion is an extended painting process held within a supportive community of others similarly committed to the creative arts process. This year’s Immersion will be held at the beautiful Windrise Center in Metamora Michigan, a wonderfully secluded property where you’ll enjoy a total respite from day-to-day distractions, allowing you to focus wholeheartedly on your own exploration. The site is a 140 acre farm bordered by the Flint River, laced with hiking trails through forests, among hills, and open meadow and pasture lands. Exquisite meals and accommodations are provided in this idyllic setting less than an hour's drive from Detroit.

Real change paradoxically begins by being completely where you are. This week-long Immersion provides a safe container in which to fully inhabit your experience — by meeting the edge of your own frontier, by allowing the condition of not-knowing without prematurely jumping on quick solutions, by finding the courage to release self-limiting attitudes and by discovering true completions and new beginnings.

As an Immersion participant, you’ll receive caring personal attention that builds upon your previous relationship with the Painting Experience. As with all our workshops, Stewart Cubley and his staff will be there as guides to personally work with you. Additionally, a photographic record of your process will be taken in order to have the history of your exploration available in follow-up sessions and subsequent workshops. A special guidebook, “Art as a Way of Being,” written by Stewart is provided as a source of inspirational quotes, discussions and questions to be used on your journey. The Immersion includes one private session with Stewart during the workshop and two follow-up sessions by phone, during which you will have the opportunity to continue the inquiry begun during the workshop.
We will contact you prior to the Immersion to identify the concerns and desires that you’ll bring to the experience so that we can work very closely with you at the workshop. We’ll also assist you in arranging all details concerning travel and location.

Prerequisite: One Painting Experience Workshop

An Immersion Experience qualifies for 32 hours CE credit
