The Institute For Art and Living is able to provide some scholarships to workshop participants in exchange for assisting with studio set-up and maintenance, as well as some grants for artists and writers.

.

The Lindy Lou Scholarship Fund provides grants to artists and writers in the process of forging their own creative identity. These scholarships are funded by a participant for whom The Painting Experience has been an important tool in unlocking her own potential as an artist and as a person dedicated to creative living. Her generous grant allows others to participate in the workshops at a greatly reduced rate. You may email or download this application.

Work exchange takes place outside of scheduled workshop times and will not take time away from your participation. Studio set-up takes place either the day before or the morning of the workshop. We ask set-up assistants to budget three hours for set-up, depending on the number of assistants. The studio is taken down immediately after the workshop, for which we budget two hours.

Approved scholarship recipients will receive their work schedule upon completion of registration.Workshop participants who have assisted in at least one studio set-up may apply for work-exchange opportunities related to office operations, publishing, and non-profit organizational development. If you have skills in these areas and wish to contribute, please attach a separate letter of interest and a current resume. We will respond to scholarship requests at least 4-6 weeks in advance of the workshop date.

Please Note: We cannot offer work scholarships at Omega, Esalen or Hollyhock.
