Study Group

"Study group is not always easy – it's sweet, deep, touching, profound, sad, hilarious, joyous and much more."

The transition time after a painting workshop is delicate. When daily life rushes in, it can be challenging to maintain the presence, vitality and aliveness found in the studio. Study Group is a way to bring your workshop discoveries home with you – to live the painting process out into life. The supported transition offered by Study Group encourages you to keep connected to what is true and authentic, to grow your capacity for living creatively and wakefully.

As a Study Group participant, you will make a three-month commitment to exploring the questions asked during workshop time but easily forgotten in the busy-ness of ordinary life. A senior teacher of The Painting Experience will facilitate a conversation about how the workshop experience continues to inform your daily living. You will receive group emails from the facilitator, as well as access to personal emails and phone calls. A private blog will be set up just for your group where you will be able to follow the thread of conversations , ask questions and post comments and see photos of the other Study Group participants.. You will be instructed how to use this wonderful tool for group support. Group discussions are initiated by the facilitator, and you will be asked to send at least a weekly response to the group or to your facilitator.

You can participate wherever you live, because you'll keep in touch with the group by email and phone. Your Study Group commitment may continue as new groups are scheduled.

Fee:
$250 for a three-month commitment. Open to anyone -- does not require prior attendance in a Painting Experience workshop. First-time participants in the Study Group will receive an introductory $100 follow-up credit that can be used in most workshops taught by The Painting Experience (see FAQ for details). Your fee includes invitation to a blog created for your group, conference calls and private phone consultations, and the ability to email your paintings to the facilitator for discussion.
