The transition time after a painting workshop is delicate. When daily life rushes in, it can be challenging to maintain the presence, vitality and aliveness found in the studio. Study Group is a way to bring your workshop discoveries home with you -- to live the painting process out into life. The supported transition offered by Study Group encourages you to keep connected to what is true and authentic, to grow your capacity for living creatively and wakefully.
As a Study Group participant, you will make a three-month commitment to exploring the questions asked during workshop time but easily forgotten in the busy-ness of ordinary life. A senior teacher of The Painting Experience will facilitate a conversation about how the workshop experience continues to inform your daily living. You will receive group emails from the facilitator, as well as access to personal emails and phone calls. Group email discussions are encouraged, and you will be asked to send at least a weekly email to the group or to your facilitator.
You can participate wherever you live, because you'll keep in touch with the group by email and phone. Your Study Group commitment may continue as new groups are scheduled.
Fee: $50/month for a three-month commitment, plus a $100 follow-up workshop fee that can be credited to most workshops taught by The Painting Experience. Your fee includes two private, one-half hour phone consultations with the facilitator, which may also involve emailing your paintings ahead of time for discussion. A limited number of scholarships are available.
