Study Group

Study Groups are virtual communities of people dedicated to exploring process art in an ongoing way. We know that it can be very challenging to make time for your creative life as well as face the inevitable voices of criticism and discouragement that can arise when painting on your own.

Through bi-monthly group phone calls, a private interactive blog and individual connection with the facilitator, you will receive the encouragement you need to develop and maintain a creative practice. You can participate wherever you live because you'll keep in touch with the group through the Internet, email and phone.

We value the presence, vitality and aliveness that participants experience in the studio. Study Group is a way to bring your workshop discoveries home with you -- to live the painting process out into life. Study Group encourages you to keep connected with what is true and authentic, to grow your capacity for living creatively and wakefully.

Details:

• Study group meets for 3 months at a time and is led by a senior facilitator of the Painting Experience.
  
  
• Fee: $250. First-time participants in the Study Group will receive an introductory $100 follow-up credit that can be used in most workshops taught by The Painting Experience (see FAQ for details).
  
  
• Prior attendance in a Painting Experience workshop is highly recommended but not essential. If you haven’t attended one of our workshops before, we require an interview with the facilitator to ensure that the experience is what you are looking for.
  
  
• Group size is usually 6 -8 participants.
  
  
• Prior to the group start date, you will receive an invitation from the facilitator to join the group blog. Technical support is provided – fear not, the blog is very easy to use.
  
  
• As a participant in Study Group, you will have the option of connecting with the facilitator to discuss your paintings and process individually by phone, and by sending your images by email.
  
  

Next Group: starts May 24, ends August 9. (Register by May 14).
